let me explain (because I know this sounds impossible) –

AVID has gotten out of the Direct Attached Storage business, and is allowing certain partners to sell AVID CERTIFIED STORAGE, but not thru AVID.

I know, it’s hard to believe. I am waiting for permission to post the exact quote on this.

yea, now all we need is AVID support for AJA and Blackmagic cards, and you will see me love AVID again.

It will happen eventually the way things have been going.

Avid is already using the Kona 3. But I just don’t see them moving their architecture to QuickTime. Heck, it would be a miracle is Avid would simply not skew color every time it has to import or export to QuickTime. Is that asking too much?

If Avid moves their architecture to Quicktime it will be the stupidest thing they’ve done in a long, long time. If they support the AJA products for I/O, though, it will be awesome. The only system that works with AJA now is the DS system, which is ironically the most expensive editing software Avid sells.

As far as importing, just make sure you have 601 selected and it will leave the color alone.
