On CalDigit web we can se the performance of each product and the number of streams available for the several formats in raid 0/5/6.

What’s the performance for Maxx Digital EvoVR – Raid 5?

How many streams for Prores 4444 , Prores 422, HDV?

Any chance of Uncompressed 10 bit?

    Best Wishes,

    Marta

    Hi –
The Maxx Digital EVO VR is right here –
    https://maxxdigital.com/shop/index.php?cPath=144&osCsid=70220e4c866f5d6b630146e25d2ccb43

on this page, you can see the AJA System test results, showing 230MB/sec.

Apple ProRes422 is 20MB/sec, so of course, 230MB/sec is enough to do Apple ProRes

Apple ProRes422HQ is 30MB/sec, so yes, this works to.

Apple ProRes4444 is 41MB/sec, so yes, this works to.

Uncompressed HD (8 bit 1920×1080 29.97 fps) is 125MB/sec as per the AJA Data Calc application, so yes, it will do uncompressed HD.

According to AJA Data Calc, uncompressed 1920×1080 10 bit HD
at 29.97 is 165.72MB/sec, so if the drive array goes 230MB/sec, you tell me if it will work.

please remember this is not a Maxx EVO product, just like the Cal Digit you refer to is not the HD Pro (or even the HD Element !).

The more expensive products offer you truly greater protection and performance.
