Maxwell Render plugin and Cinema 4D

March 19, 2010 at 12:30 amHi everyone,
A friend recently upgraded to a fresh version of Maxwell Render 2.0 and sold me his copy of 1.6. He’s out of contact for a while, and I’m having trouble installing it. The standalone installs fine, but the Maxwell plugin for C4D (cinemaxwell) is giving me a real headache.
I’m using C4D 10 on a Mac 10.5 machine. Whenever I put the maxwell folder into my plugins, C4D freezes when it starts back up. I can remove files and trace it back to maxwell.dylib which, when taken out, doesn’t freeze the program. Of course, the plugin doesn’t work then, either… so that’s the problem.
Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

March 19, 2010 at 12:42 amGeez–I spend all day looking for a solution, and the second I post, I find one!
For anyone else having this problem, just download the latest copy of the Maxwell plugins (they say for Windows, but will work on your 64-bit Mac). They seem to be back-compatible for earlier versions.
Wooh! Thank goodness. Now I’m off for a beer.
Thanks!

March 19, 2010 at 1:35 amNope, I was wrong!
The 2.0 plugin works, but after setting up a scene and trying to render, it doesn’t seem to be compatible with the 1.6 I have installed. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a copy of the Maxwell 1.6 C4D plugin?

I also get this freeze spinning ball when C4D is starting up.
Can’t figure out whats going on as there isn’t many people having this issue. So I guess its due to another application is in conflict with the plugin.
Well how the hell to know when you got hundreds of things installed.
Thanks in advance if anyone could report some kind of help.
