MAXON VS Red Giant Billing Tomfoolery
Since no one has griped about this I might just be the one customer who encountered a perfect storm of bad timing, but historically with RED GIANT filters you bought them for permanent licenses and upgrade as you could afford to. Apparently with MAXON’s purchase, that policy changed, because I got hit with a $699 “subscription” fee I don’t remember being a subscription. But maybe back when it was Red Giant I was so excited to get upgrades I missed that fine print? The fee kicked in the month MAXON started, so it sure SEEMED like extortion. (Didn’t help that my bank flagged the expense as potentially fraudulent… THAT’S a whole comedy of errors I’ll spare everyone). Now my plug ins are not working. WHat did I pay for? I’d love to ask someone there but their chat says no one’s available.
