  • Maximum overall bitrate for Blu-Ray using SONY AVC codec

I’ve googled a good 10 minutes and could not find what I was looking for.

What is the maximum overall bitrate for a Blu-Ray disc when using the SONY AVC codec? Is there a maximum bitrate for just the video too?

    Let’s say I’m using 192kbps AC3 stereo audio.

The Blu-Ray disc will be authored in Sony DVD Architect.

The Blu-Ray disc should play on a Blu-Ray stand alone player without any problems.

    According to this website: https://www.blu-ray.com/faq/

The maximum bitrate is 54.0Mbps for audio and video combined.

So, using the maximum Sony AVC bitrate setting of around 20Mbps should be fine.
