Maximizing Output for DVD
I was torn between posting this here or in the Encore forum but since I know AE better, here ’tis.
I like to think I know AE pretty well but I’m stumped on this one. I built a composition (D1 Widescreen Square Pixel preset) comprised of webpage comps built in Photshop (1920 x 1080) and text generated in AE. After some pushes and transitions were added I rendered out a .mov file (Animation codec, best quality). The client wanted this authored as a single play DVD.
Here’s where I need help. I tried creating a DVD with Nero, Toast and Encore CS3, but in every case the quality of the DVD was MUCH worse than my .mov file (illegible text, blooming reds, aliasing, etc.). Now I know there are a million variations within the settings of these programs (believe me, I’ve been tweaking for days now) but because all three authoring applications produced similar poor results I wonder if I’m missing something simple.
Is there a preferred set of settings for output from AE to create DVD? Or better can someone direct me to a website that deals with authoring DVDs in a professional environment (all I have found are aimed at consumers). Thanks all!
