    hello everybody,
i have a question regarding after effects and quicktime.
i have a aftereffects file of 8880 widht and 72 height.
if i render the project to a .mov (animation, pro res,….),
i get a black screen in quicktime.
but if i import this rendered movie in after effects or final cut
    i can see the movie.
i tried with different widths of my project, and every movie over
8100 pixel is just black in quicktime/ vlc/ mgp streamclip.

if i render just a TIF sequence (8880 pixels width) i can open
them in photoshop, but in quicktime i get a black screen again.

does quicktime has a maximum widht wich it can display?

    thank u very much,
    greetings , kai

It appears that others may be having this same problem:

It appears that it may be related to the version of QT, as well as the OS you’re on.

    that is very strange…
but thank you very much for the link, the user there really describes exactly the same problem.
maybe some other person had the same problem?
    OS X 10.6.8
    Quicktime 7.6.6
    Quicktime 10.0

You are very right with your opinion about QTX 🙂 – i totally agree.
i erased the QTX application from the computer and restarted.
    unfortunatly no changes.
    greetings, kai
