  • Max size AE can handle?

    Hi everyone,

The company i’m currently working for is creating some graphics for a stadium tour and we are using a large canvas size 2700×576 most of the time AE renders ok but it does tend to crash a lot. Does anyone know the upper image size that AE is happy with?

    Many Thanks
    P

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the max size allowed is 30,000 x 30,000. How happy AE is with that type of size though is questionable.

Does this secret preferences trick apply to AE7 on the NT platform or just MAC? I do not get anything new on the windows side when holding down shift while opening the preferences. I have image buffer problems and want to change the purge. any help is appreciated.

Did you keep holding down the shift key until the final preferences dialog box came up?

On a Mac, I’m holding down the shift key while acccessing preferences through the after effects drop down menu, nothing is happening. I’m not famiiar with the “final Pref dialog box.” What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    RS

I suppose I mean “the only preferences dialog box”. You need to hold down the shift key continuously until the big box that has all the preferences appears. Otherwise “secret” will not appear.

Now … if you have AE 7, they might have incorporated a “during make movie” memory purging switch into the preferences somewhere else. (I’m just a late adopter, by the way)
