Matte box for HVX-200
Posted by Jason Piekarski on January 22, 2007 at 2:59 pmcan anyone recommend a good matte box for the HVX-200. Also, I’d like to purchase a telephoto adaptor as well – is the Century optics adaptor a good buy?
Thanks in advance for any advice,

I use a VOCAS matte box – hold 3- 4x4s, has french flags and uses standard arri 15mm rails,
The Century Optics matte box is OEM’d from the same company. I have both the Century Tele and Fisheye Adaptor and love them both.gary adcock

January 23, 2007 at 2:43 amCheck out Cavision.com they have good matte boxes and french flags and side flaps. the MB410H is a good one however due to its 100mm back mount, you will need to purchase two step up rings. Also a rod supports system is advisable to hold the whole thing together securely. Set you back about $5-600 if you order from BH Photo Video.

January 23, 2007 at 6:15 amI found the prices of Matte boxes to be way over priced for what they are. Some I saw were over $1500 for a piece of plastic that sits in front of your lens. Then I found these guys who seem to agree with me.
I have not bought it yet because I am still trying to find a good solution for my RedRockMicro 35mm lens attachment. But just for a lens shade $298 is a good price compared to the over price ones on the market right now. My opinion only : )
