MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J – Anyone have problems with this drive?
Hello All,
In a recent post I mentioned I’m having an issue with authoring DVD’s out of DVDSP. While trying to think of what might be going on, I’m wondering if anyone has had similar problems with the same drive I have? And if you have, what did you do to correct the issue? The drive I have is the
MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J

Every drive has some issue at some point. Either it’s broken or there’s an issue with your computer that can be fixed with some housecleaning- which is what I suggested. If that doesn’t work, repair or replace. Simple.

what I said in the previous thread- repair permissions and zap PRAM. On an older computer those fix a lot of random issues.

Last question – I hate to suck our brain – but while I was able to do the permissions thing I have no idea how to zap the PRAM.
If you can give me a step by step, I’d greatly appreciate it.
However, I just went through the steps to make a copy of a DVD, the same one I authored in DVDSP, and when I go to burn a blank disc, it’s getting kicked out and I’m getting an error message just like before.Thank you!

And…! If the drive works with CD-ROM’s and copies photos fine but not DVD’s, does that indicate something?

If you did, would that make you a gremlin?
Yes, I think I mentioned that I did do the disk utility permissions on both my hard drives but that I did not ZAP anything ’cause I can’t find how to do that.Thank you!
