    Hi everyone
We’re making the switch from FCP 7 and so far the only problem I’m running into is getting my workspace to play on my external broadcast monitor through my Matrox MX02. I’ve installed all of the updates and the preview plays clip to the monitor just fine. I can also preview after effects through the Matrox but the workspace and timeline won’t play out to my monitor at all. I’m not finding any options to set the playback to be out through the matrox other than the player setting in the preferences. It’s got to be a setting somewhere. Thanks everyone for your time.

CS 5.5 had issues with all the third party cards. Upgrade to CS 6 and get the latest Matrox drivers.

    Hi Keith,

My name is Vic, from Matrox support.

For the Mac world, please confirm you have installed our 2.5 driver, and have your CS updates applied first.

In premiere, when you build a new project, when ‘The New Sequence’ window opens on the Sequence Presets pane, under Available Presets, select the preset that matches the type of sequence that you want to create from the Matrox Presets folder.

Now put some color bars on the timeline. Do you see them on our output monitor?

If not, and lets say for example you are using HDMI out, go to system preferences, launch the Matrox icon, and go to the video out tab, set the HDMI output dropdown to 1080i, instead of main channel.

Please keep us updated and let us know the type of cabling you are using, and if it is a direct connection.

    Best regards

    Thanks Vic!

    Yep 2.5.0.0033 installed.

Sweet! That worked. It was the matrox preset. It would be great if you could change that after a project is started for machines that don’t have the matrox here but glad it works now. Thanks for the heads up.
