    My SYSTEM

    Apple 23″ display / Samsung 17″ LCD / Panasonic BT-LH2600WP
    Blackmagic Decklink Extreme card latest
    OSX Tiger w/10.3.9 upgrade
    FCP 6 w/ Studio Suite 2
    1 300gig scratch disc
    2 x 500GB G-Raid Firewire800
    Decks = Beta-SP, DVCpro, DigiBeta.
Audio Mix = Mackie 1604 VLZpro
    Panasonic AJD-230H DVCpro deck
JVC GY-HD200U Hi Def Camcorder HDV

I have read some of the threads and could not get an answer. Need help in setting up MXO. Image is not clear and just freezes. Is my graphics card too slow? What video setting are good for the JVC shooting 720p 24 frames?

    Thanks in advance.

I would try various Video Playback settings in the Audio/Video settings, especially uncompressed 720p 23.98 YUV, uncompressed 720p 23.98 RGB, and maybe uncompressed 720p 29.97 YUV, uncompressed 720p 29.97 RGB.

In MXO software 2.0, there doesn’t appear to be a specific HDV preset for 720p 23.98, but one of the uncompressed settings should pass the picture.

For example, I’m editing a project telecined to ProRes422 1080p at 23.98, and to get it play on an HD flat screen here, I’ve been using uncompressed 1080p 23.98 (at 29.97) YUV.

So the setting that works might not be what you would first guess.

I’ve used the matrox MXO on 3 systems we have, one has the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT, another has the ATI Radeon X1900 XT, and the third is a MacBook Pro with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT.

The Matrox works on all of them, with ProRes422 1080p 23.98 and DVCPROHD 1080i 29.97 footage.

I’m also using the version 2.0.0.21 for the MXO.

Steven has is. YOu have to try the various 720p 23.98 outputs…and even a few of the 29.97 ones or 59.94. Because the signal being sent out to the monitor should be a 29.97 or 59.94 signal…because that is the rate of the stream.

I work with DVCPRO HD 720p 23.98…but my playback option is set to 720p 59.94…because DVCPRO HD is a 59.94 data stream.

I have tried all this. I finally got it to play @ 720pDVCpro HD 29.97.
It still does drop some frames. The resoulution is terrible. The image plays on about half the screen not edge to edge.
