Matrox MX02
Posted by Cj Macpherson on July 11, 2009 at 1:52 pmIs anyone using this with Media 100? I am taking out my Kona LHe and am considering the MX02, so I would like to hear other opinions. I also like that it can be used with Mac Pro and MacBook Pro when working at a client’s location. Thank you!

July 11, 2009 at 2:20 pmThe new release of Media 100 with support for the MXO2 is not available right now, but I guess it should be in the next couple of weeks, since it is announced for July. I haven´t used the MXO2, but it looks good as a mobile solution.

July 11, 2009 at 3:39 pmSo, version 13.0.4 doesn’t support MX02 yet? If it’s happening soon, that’s okay. I am updating from 12.7 next week and taking out the LHe card.
Their website says:

Matrox MXO2 Support. Media 100 Suite now supports Matrox MXO2……Compatible with MacBook Pros and Mac Pros
I/O Support
Media 100 Suite supports AJA’s KONA 3X/3, KONA LH/LHe, and KONA LS/LSe video I/O cards, Matrox MXO2, and Media 100 HDx.
I am looking for HDMI I/O which LHe does not have.

July 11, 2009 at 4:27 pmMy Kona LHE has DH SDI.
Check AJA site:

I also have the MX02 and it is a fine solution, and I think it will be great when Suite comes out, any day now. But read up on your LHE, you will get a pleasant surprise. It uses the same two SDI ports for SD or HD.

July 11, 2009 at 9:05 pm[CJ MacPherson] “Matrox MXO2 Support. Media 100 Suite now supports Matrox MXO2……Compatible with MacBook Pros and Mac Pros
I/O Support “That is a press release for Media 100 Suite aka V14, which has not been released but which is announced for July. The release date has slipped a little bit from this first announcement.
The other option for HDMI support (currently available with V13.0.4) is the Kona LHi, but of course this is only for a desktop system and not for a Laptop.
