Matrox Axio
Hi,
Is anyone using the axio?
Do you like it, I’d love to hear some user feedback.
One thing I saw posted somewhere is that id doesn’t support output of the After Effects comp to a Broadcast monitor. Is this true, has this been addressed, that’s a big drawback for me (I’m sure for most users).

I suggest reposting you question on the COW’s Matrox Editing Forum. There are Axio users there that will be happy to report.

I am not a Axio user but have been researching/considering it seriously. I am informed by
Matrox and also Larry Sherwood that in 1.0 or 1.5 (Axio software revs) AE WYSIWYG to the
monitor output of the Axio is NOT supported. They plan it for a future Axio sw release.
There was a mention of using the Matrox Perherla (sp?) card for that capability along
with the Axio but I have not researched that with Matrox to determine it’s feasibility.

I may as well answer it here. It doesn’t support frame buffer from AE yet. But it’s obviously something Matrox is working on at high priority.

I’m in the midst of Beta testing the newest Axio release, 2.0, I obviously can’t say too much but . . .those who seek WYSIWYG performance from Axio for AE, as well as other 3rd party apps, will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems to me this is an appropriate place for this type of discussion. After All, Axio runs with Premiere Software….
