If I create a cup that needs a displacement on it, and I add a basic pre-made material like Banji Plastic that has 3 specular settings, diffuse etc, but no displacement, can i use the UV edit UVW wizard to create a displacement, and add it to the pre made banji plastic material? i haven’t been able to figure out how to do that… or how to add any shaders to an existing material like diffuse/spec/roughness/ etc if thats even possible..

    thanks!

No way that I know of to add material displacement to a prebuilt shader that doesn’t have it built in, but you can always use the displace deformer to achieve the same effect. But you will have to either subdivide the object or use hypernurbs to get enough geometry for the deformer to work with.

That seems like a really complicated way to get some displacement. Why not just copy the parameters you like from your Banji shader into a regular C4D material and use the displacement there?

    I rock.
