I’ve looked for this for a good long time, but I still haven’t found it: anyone know how to create a procedural material that adds worn edges on the corners of a model? Something like the opposite of ambient occlusion, which adds to obscured edges, this would add material to the edges that stick out most.

Unfortunately I don’t know of anything that does that. I think the best you can do is apply AO to your object, reverse the polygon normals, and then bake the AO to a bitmap.

you could also use Proximal with the object the material is on for a target as the layer mask in a Layer shader or in the Alpha channel if mixing more than one texture.
