  • Material from camera to computer – 9 Gb -> 5 Gb

    Hi.
    I have used XDCAM Transfer program when converting the material from the EX-1 camera to a computer but now I noticed that the material on cameras memory disks are about 9 Gb and after transfering it is only 5 Gb. I guess the compression should be quite the same in camera as in computer but why am I missing 4 gigs here? Am I losing quality or something or why is it so much smaller?

    Thanks

    Mikko

    You verified that you moved all the data?

    All the shots were there?

    I guess we’ll never know what happened Tim.
    The only issue with tapeless work flows is the large percentage of human error associated with it.

    So I see you’re hanging out here since you have been using the EX1.

    Nice to have you around. Lets catch up tomorrow.

    Hey Michael,

    I -heart- the EX-1…

    For a camera that fits in the overhead on a commuter jet, this camcorder really is fantastic.

    Hi. i just came from filming a commercial so I couldn’t answer until now. I double-checked that there was all the material transfered from the camera but It’s still not 9 Gb. Then I downloaded the Log and Transfer plug-in for FCP from sony and with that I got it match the 9 gigs. How odd is that? :
