  • Material Anti-Aliasing Problem…

    Hey All,

Anyone have some suggestions for cleaning up my material renders? I’m using a high res targa in the color channel of my material, anti-aliasing is set to best, still-image but on my opening tight shot, the edges of the image in the material are still coming across a bit ragged. As the camera zooms out, it gets cleaner.

I’ve gone through the different sampling modes and messed with MIP levels but am not too familair with what those settings actually achieve.

I’ve attached a picture of the tight shot. The aliasing takes place around the gulf coast of the US on the map.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Best,
    Ryan

Does the bitmap you’re using have enough resolution to avoid pixelating at close range? If not you won’t be able to overcome that in Cinema.

If so, I suggest you place a compositing tag on the globe object and specify a higher AA level than the default Best setting.

Raising the min from 1×1 to 2×2 for just that object with compositing tag fixed it. Thank you.
