Can you call up 2 clips next to each other and ‘match their white balances”. Example:
if one camera was ‘off’ a bit from the main camera, does FCP have an ‘eyedropper’ function
where you can “pick up” the white you like in clip #1 and then apply those settings to
clip #2 to have it match? Here I am not referring to copying and pasting “attributes” like
a color correction filter. Fellow FCP editor of Wedding videos wishes to more closely and
easily match videos from 2 different mini-dv cameras.
    Thanks,

FCP Studio 2, MacBook Pro- 1 month old.

The function you are looking for is called MATCH HUE. You can make the whites match, or fleshtones, or if both cameras have the same wall or building in a shot. Look and see if the manual has this, and if not, then there is a great DVD on Color Correction that covers this, as it requires a few steps and is something that needs to be seen..can’t describe it well.

If you can’t find it in the manual, here is the DVD that covers this:

Thanks guys. I’m fairly “young” in FCP experience. At my television job, we are in the process of replacing an older “Accom AFFINITY” NLE with 2 FCP systems. we’re still learning with the books and “playing” around a bit until all the pieces get shipped in, but
and so far “blown away with the things that can be done, and “we haven’t even touched MOTION 3 YET. We’ve got so-oo much to learn!
