Matching inconsistent shots?
Hey guys – I’m currently editing a music video that is comprised of 2 pretty inconsistent shots. Here’s what I’m working with:
SHOT 1: 00still1.jpg
SHOT 2: 00still2.jpg
I have about 60 different clips from each shoot – a Nikon D7000 was used on both shoots. A professional photographer did shot 1 with a 70-200mm 2.8 (@ 70mm), whereas I used a 35mm 1.4 for shot 2.
I was very rushed on the second shoot and, being fairly new to shooting, wasn’t able to properly experiment with lighting and camera angle/distance, which resulted in noticeably different shots. If only I had thought to ask here before shooting, haha!
Anyway, as you can probably tell, there are major differences in cropping and white balance – shot 2 is also slightly soft due to poor focusing, and the shadows are somewhat harsher. Fortunately, a simple unsharp mask seemed to solve the focus issue.
What would be your advice on fixing the cropping/color issues? Thanks so much!
