    Dear All,

    I think I’ve stumbled on a rather annoying oversight in the match grain effect.

    I am matching moving 3d layers (at different positions on z-axis) to a background layer (a cityscape shot on 16mm film).

    The problem is that when the background is selected as the ‘noise source layer’, after fx shrinks or enlarges the noise source to the size of the 3D layer so that the grain is either too fine or too chunky (see picture for an illustration- with final output and noise samples viewing modes).

    Does anyone know a way around this fustrating problem?

    Try precomposing the 3D layers into one precomp, then applying the effect to the precomp.
