This may be a simple question, but a none to simple resolution.
I frequently have multiple video clips …. Taken on different days, maybe even with different cameras.
Let me give 2 examples –
    1. I convert several old VHS tapes .. I try to keep recordings from a particular camera together .. but once captured to DV there can be significant colour casts from one clip to another. Probably one clip maybe a lot more ‘washed out; than another – depending on how tape aged. Plus physically different tape media used.

    2. On an event I may have digital media from more than one camera .. some 720, some 1080 … again different colour cast. Often also a different white balance.

I do try to set white & black points manually which does improve somewhat, but more often that not there is a distinct colour difference.
Would be interested to know of steps, tool, plugins, tips or techniques to ‘match’ the appearance.

Vegas Pro has the Sony Color Match plug-in. You should probably look into it.

Boris FX also has an excellent Color Match plug-in that comes with Boris Continuum Complete. Here is an episode of Boris TV where I show you how to use it:

Thanks for response …. I have MSP 12 .. and the Sony Color Match plugin is not included.

I’ll go see if I can find if the Boris plugin will be available for MSP

MSP 12 means Movie Studio Platinum 12, which does not have the Color Match. Movie Studio Platinum 13 has the Color Match.

    Movie Studio 13 Platinum
    What’s new in version 13.0
    Video

Color Match allows you to automatically match the color between clips.

The Boris plug-ins don’t support Movie Studio. If you are doing multi-camera shoots, you really need Vegas Pro.
