  • Match moving camera shake to add a camera that mimics the shake?

I want to add a camera to my scene that mimics the camera shake in my original footage. I saw a tutorial awhile back that included a technique to reverse the Motion Tracker, or apply it to a precomp or something…

My 3D camera tracker isn’t able to resolve this in CS6

does anyone know how to do this?

In other words you want to math the shake of the 3D camera position and the point of interest and apply it to the 3D camera?

In theory, you would motion track two points, one close to the camera and one far away and link the camera to the tracker near the camera and the point of interest to the point in the distance, both with multipliers that try and simulate the distance of the tracked objects from the camera, i.e. how much they actually move in real life. If handheld, the point of interest in the distance would usually move much more than the camera itself. That might work for mimicking the effect. Making it accurate is another story.
