match frame opens up new master clip (no markers)
Hello,
this is possibly a daft question but i can’t seem to find it answered on here.
I have my master clip loaded in the viewer
I watch it through adding markers
I mark in & outs as usual and insert into my timeline.When i try to match frame from the timeline it seems to make/open up a new master clip in the viewer with the same name as the original but no markers..
What boneheaded obvious thing am i misssing here – i’m sure it’s probably me and not FCP but I dont think i have had this issue before..
I’m using 1080i DVCproHD footage on a G5 running 10.4.11 FCP 6.0.5

What version are you using? It works correctly for me. The browser clip with markers is what appears in the viewer. How are you doing the match frame?

Hi Tom,
I’m using 6.0.5 – it has always worked correctly for me in the past
so i’m a bit flummoxed.I’m wondering if it’s something to do with affiliate clips (and my lack of understanding of them) – have i somehow created another master clip without realising and it’s linking back to that?
is it something that has occured “behind the scenes” when i have stereo paired the audio of a clip in the timeline etc etc?
If i click in the browser and go Tools>Create Master Clips it’s adding a bunch of duplicate master clips to my project…
I know i’m missing something obvious but what….?
