  • Match export properties to source “exactly” ?

    Hello,

I’m having great difficulty exporting a video from premiere pro and maintaining image quality.

I know some of the properties of my source video by clicking on the video in the sequence panel. There it gives me frame rate, image size & pixel aspect ratio but i want to know how can i find the other properties of my source video that are required when exporting such as …

    field order
    profile
    level
    bitrate (image)

The pixel aspect ratio of my source video is 1.2444 but that is not listed in the presets.

When i export my edit video the image quality is terrible, nothing like the source.

Is there a way i can find all of the properties of my source video and match them exactly to the export settings in premiere pro ?

My source video is a music video m4v that i want to edit for my own personal use.

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on a PC With windows XP

Exporting as H.264? It’s been a while since I’ve used CS4(years actually) are you also using Media Encoder?

Thank you for your response Jayson.

Yes i would like to export the video as H.264 * i am using the media encoder.

Basically i want to edit music videos by changing the audio of a regular music video that usually contains sound effects or voice overs and replace it with the original song audio. I am a club dj and need good quality music videos but without the audio effects.

I found a solution today by using quicktime pro to “replace audio” this does take some time to trim the video (in quicktime)and make an audio file that is EXACTLY the same length and the video and line them up in another programme, but the results are perfect for what i need.

Is there a better, quicker way in premiere pro where i can replace the audio of a music file or finding the exact pixel data to export a perfect picture with new perfect audio ?

    Many thanks for your support.

Media Encoder comes with quiet a bit of presets even in CS4. Are your files going to a distribution house or to web? If to web – Replace the audio in Premier Pro, Link to Media Encoder, H.264, YouTube, Look for ‘Level’ and change that to something higher if you’re working with HD files and you can basically adjust all the other settings as you need to. If it’s for someone else to distribute (and because you mentioned Quicktime I’m supposing you’re on a mac) you can select Quicktime as the export option and where it says “Video Codec” select Pro Res and you can tweak the rest of the settings from there. Pro Res files will come out huge by the way but are great quality.

Thanks i will try these settings. I would be playing the newly modified video in a nightclub so the audio has to be high quality (which is one reason why i replace the audio)and the video stream would be on the large screens in the club.
