    Hi all~

I have a question regarding which template to master HD footage to, particularly a timeline which has both HD and SD files.

I’m good on rendering for DVD, and also for web, but I am unsure what template to use to render for storage (as a ‘master’). This won’t be going to tape, but instead will be stored on drives.

I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0

The 2 media types in the timeline are:

    • MPEG-2 HDV 1080, 29.97 FPS
    • DV (removing 2-3 pulldown) 720×480, 23.976 FPS

Any help would be appreciated – thanks!

I would render as the same format of the HDV your using. If you render as SD, you will not be able to get HD from your HD footage later on. Another option is, if your going to use Vegas in the future with these files, to save as, and check “Copy media with project” so you can still get the 1080i and the 24 fps DV if you want in the future. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Thanks Danny – I will try as you suggested.
