Mastering 1080 24p for the first time with Kona 2
I’ve been working in SD10 bit for a long time and now a project that requires HI-DEF mastering has finally landed in my lap. I will be working on a Mac with a Kona 2 and an apple xserve. I plan to rent proper HD monitoring and HD-SDI waveform and vectorscopes for mastering to Sony HDCAM. I am a newby to this so I wanted to get a consensus of pitfalls to look out for and what kind of render times I can expect in FCP with a 90 minute Documentary all shot at on the Sony F900 @1080 24p . Whats the best codec and, is monitoring in 24p a major challenge these are all things I’ve read about over the last two years. But everyone in this business knows that reading only gets you so far. Thanks for all your help in the past and I look foward to your opinions.
