  • Master Properties Aren’t Animatable?

Posted by Christopher Bly on November 26, 2019 at 9:43 pm

I’m currently working on a project that I set up using a whole bunch of master properties in order cut down on the number of comps I need to use, but I’m running into a HUGE problem now that I’m trying to animate things. Whether I try to animate a property using keyframes or using expressions, the animation just flat out doesn’t work. The property just holds on whatever value it was at the start of the comp and won’t animate over time. Note that I’m not trying to animate the master properties themselves directly, but using an expression to link them to other controllers and animating those.
Does anyone know if this is correct that master properties can’t be animated, or is there something that I’m missing or doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
