  “Master Clip Not Present” errot

  Hi – big problems which sound like I am not the first one to encounter, after much searching I have not found a solution though. Trying to match back to the original clip in Browser from timeline with Shift-F I get the message “The clip’s master clip is not present. Would you like to add a Master clip to the Browser?”
  I am working just in one project and have not copied clips from one to another project. Sometimes this works and sometimes not. Is there any way to fix this problem and re link the master clip affiliation?
  If not should I just add a master clip as prompted?

  I would sincerely appreciate some help with this! – Brian
