I have some text moving behind some geometric shapes. The text is white and the shapes are black against a black background, therefore the text looks like it is broken up into smaller white abstract pieces. I want to know if I can individually animate some of the shapes at some points.

So far I have run Auto Trace on a short test of about 10 frames and this works fine obviously. Because I want to be able to individually colour some of these shapes I need them on separate layers. So I ran the Redefinery ‘Mask to Shapes’ script and although it works as advertised, it doesn’t pull across any of the keyframes.

The grunt method would be to duplicate the shape layers, re-colour them and then selectively delete the masks I didn’t want on each layer. However, this is a lot of work for every frame of a 10 second animation. Does anyone have any better ideas?

    Thanks.
