  • masks nullifying blending modes for continuously rasterized precomps

    Greetings Folks,

So I’ve got a PreComp with a variety of layers, each with different blending modes. The explosion (which is on black), for example, is an add.

When I throw that PreComp in another comp, with “Continuously Rasterize” ON, it preserves the various blending modes of the PreComp’s layers in the new comp… which it should. The explosion’s black background is invisible, as expected.

But, when I mask or alpha the PreComp, the blending modes within go bye bye. For example, instead of a nicely added explosion in the comp, I have it’s black background.

    What’s the deal?

I’m sure it has to do with render or something, but it seems crazy that I can’t mask continuously rasterized precomps!

    thanks for any insights…

    -Tom
