Masks Moves/Ae cs5 to Ae cs4
Posted by Sala Sultan on February 2, 2011 at 2:48 pmHello everyone!
Hope all is well
I have two type of questions
First how can I make mask follow a null object, let\’s say I drew a mask on a layer and decided to make it move with the tracked image.
My second question, is there a way to export files from AE CS5 to AE CS4?
Thanks and I hope to hear from u soonSala

February 2, 2011 at 3:02 pmYou would need to apply your mask to a separate layer and parent that layer to the null object. Then use the masked layer as a track matte.
And I know of no way to go from CS5 to CS4. It’s always been tricky – if not impossible – to go from a newer version of AE to an older one. And since CS5 is 64-bit and CS4 is 32-bit, that makes it even more difficult.
I heard rumors that someone at one of the AE scripts websites was working on a script to do that, but have yet to hear anything solid on it.– The Great Szalam

There was a lengthy and detailed thread on this a few days ago:
