    Hi,

I’m forced to mask a very complex scene and it makes no sense for me to use “Mask Path” to interpolate between the frames. That means I will have to draw a new mask on each single frame. Is there a way to start over with the mask on every new frame?

I guess it’s possible – I found this when trying “auto trace” – but I don’t know how I can get those solid square keyframes (check screenshot). With them it’s possible to draw a completely new mask on each frame.

    Confusing? Sorry!

Draw the masks in the layer window, not the comp window. After you draw the first one, set the “target” to “mask 1”, and make sure the first mask keyframe is a hold keyframe. Then as you draw on subsequent frames, the keyframes will automatically become hold keyframes.
