When i take an object that i mask and put it on another background it kind of mixes in with the background. how do i make it so the masked object becomes clear?

Did you create the mask in the EVENT PAN/CROP window? In that case could it be that you have set the value for FEATHER at something else then zero?

Make sure that you have the opacity set to 100% in the masking properties and also if you are looking for sharp edges then do not use any feathering as it will show through the edges. Other than that it should not show through at all. Let me know is this helps.
