Masking not working?
I have two tracks, both on Source Alpha, the above masked out with the intention of showing a portion of the below track through. Only the masked out portion shows black through rather than the clip on the track below. I’ve checked the tracks and they seemed to be fine. Is there a special setting I may have accidentally bumped or something?

Go back to the “Event Pan/Crop” window of your upper track,
highlight the masked area, then under “Path” on your left,
select “Negetive” for the Mode…..Try that.Steve Rhoden

I have a similar query. I know how to isolate a figure (ie a person from a clip via positive masking). I want to place this person onto a background on the track below – the background isn’t the same as that belonging to the masked clip. How can I do this? I tried yesterday and the person showed up, but the surrounding area was just black even though I played with the compositing settings. Any help would be appreciated, thanks x
