    Hello 🙂

I’d like to mask out a certain portion of a video and turn it completely red. You can imagine this as a moving, multi-colored object on a blue background where I’d like to color the moving object red and turn the blue background transparent.

I’m pretty new to After Effects so if anyone could either point me to some tutorials that cover this subject or even explain a possible solution, I’d be very grateful 😉
    Thank you!

You can make the blue transparent by using a chroma keyer.

You can then take the composition and nest it into another composition and use a channels tool to show only the red channel, or you could use transfer modes to color the layer using a red layer on top of the object.
