masking for lower third
I am having trouble creating a lower third which has an oval window off to the left side. I want to put a chroma keyed video of a person’s head rotating around, inside of the oval. I want the video to be behind the lower part of the oval, but I want the persons head to stick out above and infront of the topside of the oval. I hope this makes sense. If I had a place to post the video, it would be obvious what I am talking about. This would be easy to do with a still photo in Photoshop, but is much harder in motion.

If I understand you correctly, you would sandwich the rotating head video between the full oval below it and a duplicate on the track above the head video. Be sure to mask the one above to reveal it only in the lower section.

That makes sense. I don’t know why I was so confused on the isssue.

For some reason I could not get the mask to work. I will need to study that more. I did work around it by going back to Photoshop, and earasing the top part of the oval, and importing that as the new top layer.
