Masking Confusion
I have an image of a computer interface that I’ve imported from PS into AE. I want to place an animation of white noise static within the frame, but this is awkward as the outline of the frame is jagged and not perfectly square. I’m not familiar with the process of masking… how would I go about setting a mask around the edges of the frame so that the white noise stays within its confines?

Why cabn’t you just place the noise layer over your interface and mask the noise layer? Or you could duplicate your interface, make that the top layer, mask out the part where you want noise and set the noise’s layer to use the top layer as an alpha matte.
