  • masking and precomposing layer doesn’t continually rasterize

    Hey Guys…

I’ve got a vector layer, I need to mask it, so that it scales from outside the mask (it’s a circle with a hole) and appears inside the mask.

I had to precompose it and mask the comp. But when I put all the layers animated into my final comp (It’s 3D)…that one layer won’t continually rasterize.

Any ideas other than precomposing to mask a layer…it involves scaling, so when I scale the layer, it scales the mask. I guess I could animate the scale of the mask in mask shape property.

I would recommend applying the mask to a solid above the layer you want to mask and using it as an alpha track matte.

That’s exactly the workaround I came up with late last night!

Thanks so much for the response…I knew there had to be a way to do it.
