Masking and disappearing
Hello,
I’ll try to explain what i have in mind, i don’t even know and think it’s a possible thing to do but whatever you’ll be the judges.
Ok, so, i have this clip, a person (A) opens the door and there is person (B) waiting outside. B is on the right and there is, on the left, enough space to see the wall behind, outside.
If i want to make it look like there is nobody outside, the person B should disappear. If I mask B out and keep the copy of the clip on a second track, there is the black of the figure i masked out, but the wall in blue so you can see that there was somebody who was erased from the clip.
So i thought, if i mask part of the wall too and then drag it on the black figure it’ll become all blue as nobody was ever there BUT, my bad, it seems like i can’t drag the masked blue wall on the masked black figure of B.
So the problem, question is: is i possible to copy part of the background and paste it over the black area where B was?
Or if there is any ohet way to do something like that, please, i’ll take every advice.

I would take a snapshot of the screen with the copy to clipboard option, and edit the snapshot in photoshop so that the snapshot shows only the wall. I would save that to a PNG file, and import it into the Vegas project. When placed on a layer above your video, the snapshot can be positioned to cover the person you want covered. Mask it as necessary to cover only the area you want covered. It is not necessary to mask the person in the video.

My bad i don’t have photoshop and wouldn’t even be able to use it.

You can also save the snapshot to a file. Then, bring it back into Vegas, put it on a layer above the video, and create a mask which shows just the wall. Position it as necessary to cover the person.
