    Hi,

I’m a complete beginner, I wanted to add an effect called Trapcode Starglow to an image sequence of some diamonds rendered out of Maya, but have it only on the diamonds and not any other objects in the scene. I can render out a black and white mask, but I’m having difficulty working out how to apply the mask to limit the effect.

    thank you

you rendered the diamonds right? just render them by themselves without a background and there is your alpha matte…or luma matte either way

    Your Timeline should be:

    #layer1 : A pre-comp of: (apply Starglow to this pre-composition)

    #1: Luma sequence
#2: Beauty sequence (with track matte set to luma)

    #layer2: Beauty sequence’s copy
