Activity Forums Adobe After Effects masking

I’m not really an expert or anything but I’ve been watching people working at after effects and have wondered about something for quite some time now. Is it absolutely necessary to manually adjust EVERY LITTLE FRAME when animating a mask? Sometimes a few seconds’ worth of footage could take ages to mask right. Isn’t there any plugin or software that’ll automatically snap each node to the new placement of the moving footage? If we can motion track why can’t we motion track a mask’s nodes (or whatever you call them)?
