    Dear All

I have a video clip with a car passing the camera, behind the car in the distance is a truck that I wish to get rid of, so I end up with just one car in the shot.

It was shot on an Canon xl1s and is locked down on a tripod. The shot is totally stationary. The truck that I wish to remove is in the far distance.

What is the best method to mask out the truck?

Can this be done with prem pro? If so how?

thanks to anyone with the time to respond.

Sounds like a job for After Effects or for another compositing program.

    Is the truck moving ?

I probably would use a garbage matte but masking anything requires some image material to fill the “hole” with. (Restore material)

Easy in AE :but also easy enough in Prem if the truck has moved away a little from the mask area and leaves you with some clean bg image to restore into the matte.

Overlay the same clip over the top of the original clip and try the garbage matte. If the truck has moved on a bit, slide the clip a bit so that you can see through to the clear bg. ( or Use a still or even a blow up section)
