    Mask Shapes

    Hi –

    Is there a way to create (in Photoshop or Illustrator maybe) and import new Mask Shapes to FCP (4.5 or 5)?

    I’m making color Matte Clips and manipulating them (to death!) and it would be great if there were more than just the four stock Mask Shapes…. I know there are the 4 and 8 pt garbage mattes, but I need more organic shapes than those can lend. Til now I’ve been creating gfx in Photoshop and importing them to FCP, but the clipping that occurs when you Distort those graphics is very limiting.

    Any info will be greatly appreciated.

    There’s fairly robust mask shape tools in Motion 2… Might consider working there instead of FCP…
