Activity Forums Adobe After Effects mask points in 3dspace

    I believe that the mask is a 2d property. What are you trying to achieve ???

    Yep, because a layer is a flat 2D plane, and a mask on a layer has to reside on that plane.

    I echo Mark’s question: what are you trying to achieve? Maybe we can find another way.

    The only case I can think of that works easily is if you had a sqaure mask the size of the layer (select layer, then double click the Rectangular Mask Tool), make it a 3D layer, then as you animate the layer in 3D space, the layer corners will be the same as the mask vertices, giving you a lot of control ovwer their placement.

    Otherwise, not so easy.
