Unfortunately, not directly with an expression.

In terms of memory though, are the points stored in anything like an XML or such? I suppose I don’t really need active control of the points through expressions or scripts.

My plan is essentially to build a mask in After Effects and then have the ability to read and reconstruct that mask in another program. So I need to get those points to an XML format.

Scripting does have access to mask path data, including vertices, inTangets, and outTangents. You could convert the path data to whatever format you like and write it to a file with a script.

Bao mask avenger is a script that allows you to access the mask vertices as position targets via expression. It can also create nulls for you.
