Hey everyone – I know how to create a shape mask over an asset (a vector image in this case).

So I want to have this vector image stay in one place, and then have the mask move from bottom to top revealing it as it moves overtop.

The normal function for a shape mask is to keep the mask shape itself in place (stationary), and if you animate the mask position it simply acts like it is moving the image in the background while the mask stays in place.

This is the opposite of what I wanted. Does anyone know how I can do this sort of movement reveal instead of a stationary mask with an object moving into view behind it?

To specify – I have an antenna and there is a separate graphic of “communication lines” going out of it. I wanted to make them look like they are shooting outwards by masking and moving the mask up over and over.

Thanks George I don’t know what I was animating incorrectly at this point but that is working now. Problem solved!
