  mask making frames disappear

  I am at my wit’s end with this problem: I composited a simple piece of video that is playing within a web page scene. There is a very slight camera movement on the scene. I have a mask on the video to make it fit nicely in the appropriate space. AE will RAM preview clean, but when rendered, something like every other frame disappears. If I remove the mask, the render is also clean. I have tried everything else I can think of, and narrowed it down to the mask as the problem. AE 7.0, recently reinstalled on a new PC. TIA…
