Mask in Mocha not tracking in AE please advise
Hello All,
I am doing beauty work in Mocha. I did masks on all the areas. Keyed them in throughout the clip. The masks track well in Mocha. Exported Shape Data – Copied to Clipboard to AE.
It pasted into AE just fine with the masks as done in Mocha.
(I copied as an Effect.)
Problem is it is not tracking in the clip in AE
So when the clip runs the masks stays in original location instead of following the areas as I keyed in MochaPlease someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thank you for your reply. I watched the video in it’s entirety and it seemed so intuitive. I started over and only did one section of the beauty area needed (forehead) and keyed in points where it needed help following. I tracked the data. And exported the shape data to AE.
I pasted the data in as an effect. I did a quick adjustment on matte to see how it would track (color composite, sample color from close by, opacity at 50%) And it stayed in the original location from the front of the clip. Like a floating pancake. The same maddening results.
When I paste in the matte I should see that shape independent of the rest of the clip (ie. the forehead) animated without the rest of the clip, correct? I don’t ever get that.
I am starting to lose my hair as I am pulling it out! Can you please provide some insight prior to total baldness?

There are 2 ways to paste mocha roto data to AE:
1. Edit>paste. This will paste mocha shape (effect)
2. Edit>paste>mocha mask (copies the roto shape to AE mask layer)Are you pasting from the first keyframe? Are there handles on your shot that have not been tracked?
If you open the keyframe editor in AE, do you see “any” keyframes?These are the things that come to mind. You can contact mocha support for more technical help:

Ross has some great advice. I guess that is why he works for Imagineer Systems. The first time I used Mocha I made that mistake and it took me a will to think to look for the keyframes and see that they where in a different place in the timeline.
