I want to use text and Trapcode’s 3dStroke, and need to know how text can be made into a mask for use with that plugin.

Preferably this would involve a Text Layer.

    Thnx.

    sure you can…

    type in your text
    go to layer>create outlines
Ae automatically creates a new layer with mask that have the shape of your letters…
adjust the effect to that new layer and you’re done
    great isn’t it ?

    cheers

I think you can also use Adobe Illustrator to create vector paths.

Its all a matter of personnal taste

Thanks coverbee! I found it myself (ain’t that always the way?)– I figured there just had to be a way, and 5-minutes spelunking found it.

    Truly slick. Thnx again!
